No? Yes? Maybe? Choreus is a new and flexible approach to artist representation and management. Backed by the Jacky Winter Group, artists are able to utilise only the specific rep services that they need, when they need it. Commissions are flexible and there’s no exclusivity. Sure, you’re not going to get everything you get in full-time representation, but for many people that’s okay!

All jobs run through Choreus will be paid to you directly from Choreus within 45 days of the project’s completion (if not sooner), regardless of your client’s terms.

Being listed on Choreus is free and our relationship will always be non-exclusive.

Choreus lies in the space between existing directories, where clients can discover new artists, and traditional representation which offers production and marketing support under an exclusive relationship. While the base offering of Choreus is a place on our curated directory of experienced creatives, listed artists will also have access to our deep knowledge of production and negotiation through non-exclusive, on-demand, flexible representation.

Through our relationship with The Jacky Winter Group, specifically their Companion service, we are often putting artists forward for briefs from the Choreus directory (and beyond!) when appropriate. Our ambition is for the directory to be a rich resource for art buyers across the world, and we also have plans for a dedicated instagram presence in the future to promote artists on the directory. These activities however will not be the same as the outward marketing you would get with a full-time exclusive rep.

There is no fee to submit a project for consideration. Should you decide to proceed, our commission rates range from 15 to 35%, depending on the required services.

Choreus is a unique and distinct offering, but it’s supported by Jacky Winter. We are huge advocates for the traditional model of representation, and feel that it offers great benefits for certain artists. Artists who work with Choreus are still able to leverage Jacky Winter’s 18 years of deep experience, amazing people, and best-in-class systems, albeit in a different capacity.

Our team have worked across all sorts of projects — murals, packaging, street posters, live illustration, TVCs, 3D printed sculptures, logos, augmented and virtual reality, fully integrated all media campaigns, animated GIFs, custom typefaces, you name it. Our primary clients are advertising agencies, design studios, publishers, consultancies, and often direct-to-client. Basically, we can handle any project where artwork is required.

We are firm adherants of the licensing model, as we strongly believe that in almost all cases this is what serves the best interests of both the artist and the client. We dedicate a lot of time to educating artists and clients alike on how to reach a happy compromise and draw up a licence agreement and fee that takes everyone’s needs into consideration.

On jobs that require work-for-hire agreement or buyout, we do our very best to ensure that the fees reflect the value of this work and we’ll chat it through with you in depth to consider the best approach.

The Choreus team of producers are not trained lawyers. However, we have seen, reviewed and negotiated thousands of contracts in our time, so we know our stuff. We can provide you solid general guidance, but for ultimate peace of mind it can be best to get things vetted formally by a lawyer. In cases where this might be needed, we can arrange this for you as an add-on with our varied legal partners.

You are free to handle any and all projects that you receive from clients independently. We'll be here to help if you need us.

We have staffed offices based in New York (USA), London (UK/EU), and Melbourne (Australia). Despite our attempts at Italian language tapes, our producers are fluent in English only. We have, however, worked with English-speaking clients across the globe and can give advice on a variety of markets.

If a client wants to get in touch with you, they’ll be able to use the contact information listed on your Choreus artist page to reach out to you directly.

If a client comes to us directly and says they are interested in working with you, we'll pass that onto you and you can decide if and how you want to engage us.

Alternatively, if a client approaches us directly in hopes of engaging us to manage the job and obtaining artist recommendations, the project would be categorized as a (Jacky Winter Companion) job, and we'd guide the project from end-to-end.

Our relationship with listed Choreus artists is completely non-exclusive. You can engage us if and when you need us, on your terms. You're welcome to seek traditional representation in the future if you please, though if you do agree to exclusive representation with an agency in the future, we would most likely be limited from providing the on-demand production services that Choreus is built upon.

We’re equally disappointed when a project doesn’t go ahead, as with every single one we’ve got just as much skin in the game as you. Whether we’re assisting the Choreus artist from quoting only through to full end-to-end management, if the estimate isn’t approved and doesn’t proceed, the artist isn’t liable to pay any fee to us.

On every Choreus project, you will be protected by the robust terms and conditions we require clients to approve before work commences. This includes committing to a formal kill fee structure to ensure that you will be paid fairly for work completed should a project be cancelled part way through.

The Choreus website is built in a way that allows artists to log in using their email and manage their artist page directly, including their current availability. If you want to swap out your folio images, update your contact information, or take your page down, you’ll have the power to handle those changes directly.

There is no relief or relaxation when we are in the samsaric world; there is always some kind of struggle going on. Even when we are supposedly enjoying life, there is still struggle and all kinds of discomfort. We may try to solve that problem by going out to restaurants or the cinema, or by enjoying our friends; nonetheless, nothing really helps. That is what is called the first noble truth, the truth of suffering. Seemingly we are trapped without hope or any way out. And once we are in that situation, we are always in that situation: we are in pain all the time…the more we understand our state of being, the more we will understand why we are in pain. What we find is that the more into ourselves we are, the more we suffer, and the less into ourselves we are, the less we suffer…the reality is that we are all trapped in samsaric neurosis, everybody, without exception. It is best that you work with reality rather than with ideals. That is a good place to begin.
